The initiatives of the second Trump Administration, from issues relating to agency independence to matters of government efficiency, have created ripple effects with respect to the scope and focus of the enforcement powers of the market regulators, the SEC, and CFTC.
As part of the Trump Administration’s massive “10-1 Deregulation Initiative,” the White House has directed agencies to expeditiously review and repeal unlawful regulations and the Office of Management and Budget is now seeking proposals that identify specific regulations that should be rescinded because they are either burdensome, outdated, expensive, unnecessary, contrary to the underlying statute, or even unconstitutional.
